In a series of intelligence-driven operations across Guwahati, police arrested four individuals and recovered heroin, mobile phones, and cash.
The Panbazar Police conducted an operation near 2 No. Railway Gate, arresting Monowar Ali, 19, from Dhubri. Officers seized seven vials of heroin weighing 8.79 grams and a stolen OPPO mobile phone.
In a separate operation, personnel from Fatashil Ambari Police Station apprehended Bimal Basumutary during a naka check at Ganeshpara. Police recovered 27.66 grams of heroin, two mobile phones, and Rs 270 in cash.
Meanwhile, a raid by the Fancy Bazar Outpost near 2 No. Railway Gate resulted in the arrest of Champak Das, 21, also known as “Biscuit,” with seven vials of heroin totaling 9.8 grams.
Another search operation near 4 No. Railway Gate close to GST Bhawan led to the arrest of Anand Jha, 29, from Bharalumukh. Five vials of heroin weighing 7.8 grams were seized from him.
Police confirmed that all recovered substances and materials were booked as evidence, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the drug network operating in the city.
