Gurugram Police Arrest Trio in Rs 40 Lakh Electronics Heist

Scrap dealers and transporter caught stealing ACs, TVs, fridges

Police in Gurugram have arrested three men suspected of orchestrating a large-scale theft of electronic goods valued at Rs 40 lakh from the under-construction Merchant Plaza Society in Sector 88. The arrests were confirmed on February 7.

Stolen Items Recovered

Authorities recovered a variety of stolen goods, including:

37 air conditioning units

3 refrigerators

13 LED televisions

Pickup truck used during the theft

The items were found at a warehouse in Manesar, where the suspects were attempting to sell them.

Suspects’ Background

The arrested individuals are:

Sane Alam – scrap dealer

Sarik – scrap dealer

Tarachand – goods transporter

Police said Alam and Sarik leveraged their scrap dealing business while Tarachand assisted in transporting the stolen goods. Interrogations are ongoing to identify any additional accomplices involved in the heist.
