In a crackdown on counterfeit goods, the Gurugram Police arrested six shop owners from the Sector 56 market for selling fake Apple products, including mobile accessories and parts. The accused have been identified as Rahul (from Sarai Daud, Mathura), Sanjeev Kumar (from NIT Faridabad), and Gurugram residents Rahul Kadam, Devender Tiwari, and Ishant Nasa.

The arrests followed a complaint from Apple Inc., which authorized the complainant to take legal action against individuals selling unauthorized Apple-branded products. Upon investigation, it was found that several shops in Sector 56 were selling fake products under the Apple name.

The police team recovered a significant quantity of counterfeit items, including 4,677 fake mobile back covers, 557 fake back panels, 74 fake charging cables, and 53 fake adapters. The shop owners were found violating the Copyright Act by illegally printing and affixing Apple logos and images on non-genuine products.

According to Sandeep Kumar, the Gurugram Police spokesperson, the shop owners were selling these counterfeit accessories as genuine Apple products to unsuspecting customers, earning illegal profits. The police suspect the involvement of a larger group in this operation and are investigating whether these fake products were manufactured locally or imported.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Copyright Act at Sector 56 police station, and further investigations are ongoing.
