The Gurugram Police Cyber Wing arrested six suspects linked to a sophisticated stock investment scam conducted via WhatsApp. The arrests were announced on Wednesday, revealing the complexity of the fraudulent scheme.

The investigation began on May 16, triggered by a complaint from a victim who was duped into investing money with promises of high returns through WhatsApp promotions. Inspector Sandeep Kumar led the cybercrime team that successfully captured the suspects in the Mahipalpur area of Delhi.

The arrested individuals include Harshit from Bhageli, Madhya Pradesh; Shivam, Akash Singh, Ashish, Ashwani Sharma, and Ram Pujan from Uttar Pradesh. Investigators discovered that approximately Rs 1.2 lakh, initially deposited into an account belonging to Vinay Singh Rana, was transferred through a chain of transactions among various network members.
