Gurpreet Singh Arrested for Haryana Roadways Bus Theft

Pehowa Police Recover Stolen Bus from Asmanpur Village

The Pehowa City Police have apprehended a man involved in the theft of a Haryana Roadways bus and successfully recovered the stolen vehicle.

The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Nangal village in Kaithal district.

According to police, Satpal Singh, an Inspector with the Haryana Roadways sub-depot in Pehowa, had parked a bus at the Pehowa bus stand at around 4:30 pm on August 7. The following day, the bus was discovered missing, prompting a formal complaint and immediate investigation.

A police team led by Sub-Inspector Mahender Singh and Head Constable Atma Ram tracked down the accused and recovered the stolen bus from Asmanpur village. Gurpreet Singh was presented before the court and sent to judicial custody.

Pehowa SHO Naresh Kumar confirmed that Gurpreet Singh had previously stolen a bus from the Kaithal depot in March 2025 and was arrested by Kaithal police in connection with that case.

Authorities have stated that further investigation is ongoing to identify if there are any accomplices involved.
