In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Nurmahal police have arrested two individuals involved in selling intoxicant tablets. The accused, Gurjit Singh, also known as Mota, is a resident of Seechewal village under the Lohian Khas police station, but is currently residing in Mohalla Chhinbian, Nurmahal. The second arrested individual, Kishan, hails from Kandola Kalan village.
Police recovered a total of 141 intoxicant tablets, 78 of which were found in a packet, and 63 in loose form. The officers, led by Investigating Officer (IO) Bodh Raj Singh, also uncovered a stolen motorcycle in Gurjit Singh’s possession. As a result, both men have been booked under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the source and distribution of the illicit substances.
