In Gumla, a six-year-old boy was allegedly murdered and his body thrown into a well in a paddy field in Kasira village under Sadar police station on Friday. The body was recovered by police on Saturday, and the accused was arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Anmol Khadia, son of Tintiya Khadia.
Police stated that Kulbhushan Mahli, 35, a resident of the same village, lured the boy on Friday evening with the promise of juice from a shop. The following day, the child’s body was found in the well.
Officer-in-charge Mahendra Karmali said that based on statements from family members, Kulbhushan Mahli was arrested. “The accused suspected that the boy’s father was in an illicit relationship with his wife, which led to this heinous act,” he added.
