GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — In a major child exploitation crackdown, Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray announced the arrest of three men following a focused initiative targeting child predators.
The suspects — Jericho Ball, 20, and Joshua Guzman, 20 — were arrested earlier this week on outstanding warrants. Both face charges of sexual assault of a child and possession of child sexual abuse material. Their arrests follow Sheriff Ray’s directive to aggressively pursue individuals involved in crimes against children and domestic violence.
Sheriff Ray, who took office earlier this year, said protecting children has been a top priority. “Since I took office, we’ve placed an emphasis on child exploitation cases and pursuing child predators,” he said.
A third suspect, Brian Schreiber, 36, was arrested Tuesday night by investigators working with the Texas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, based on tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He faces charges of possession of child pornography.
Local residents expressed shock at the arrests. One neighbor, who lives near Schreiber’s residence, recalled the moment law enforcement arrived: “There were about six undercover vehicles. I didn’t know what was going on,” she said, later learning about the serious nature of the charges.
Sheriff Ray emphasized that such crimes will not be tolerated in Guadalupe County. “As long as I’m the sheriff in this county, we will bring every single law enforcement resource we have to bear to pursue them,” he stated.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
