Gravenhurst Woman Charged in Counterfeit Money and Fraud Investigation

Amee Paulette faces multiple charges after passing fake currency in Bracebridge area

Bracebridge, ON — The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged 40-year-old Amee Paulette of Gravenhurst in connection with a series of counterfeit money incidents.

Between June 30 and July 8, 2025, police received multiple reports of counterfeit bills being passed at various locations within Gravenhurst. With crucial assistance from the public, OPP officers identified and arrested Paulette.

She now faces five counts of uttering counterfeit money and three counts of fraud under $5,000. Paulette is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 12, 2025, to respond to the charges.

The Bracebridge OPP thanked community members for their vigilance and cooperation, emphasizing the important role the public plays in maintaining safety and well-being in the region.
