CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Anurag Bajpayee, the Indian-origin CEO of Gradiant, a leading wastewater treatment company, was arrested in early 2025 as part of a criminal investigation into a high-end brothel operating near Harvard University.
The brothel, which catered to executives, lawyers, doctors, and politicians, charged clients up to $600 per hour for sex and kept detailed records, which have now become central to a series of hearings known as “The Cambridge Brothel Hearings.” The operation reportedly required clients to submit personal references, IDs, and work badges before gaining access.
Bajpayee, who is alleged to have paid for sex at the brothel multiple times, was arrested alongside dozens of other men in the Boston area on misdemeanor charges. Gradiant, valued at over $1 billion, has publicly supported its CEO, with spokesperson Felix Wang stating, “We believe in the justice system and are confident that this will resolve favorably in due course.”
Despite the controversy, Gradiant remains focused on its mission to ensure clean water for all. The ongoing hearings continue to expose other prominent men involved in the scandal, with more names expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
