Gourish Karkera, 2 Others Held for Robbing Udupi Woman

Gold chain snatched after assault on elderly in Brahmavar

In a swift police operation, three men have been arrested for assaulting an elderly woman and snatching her 40-gram gold chain in Brahmavar, Udupi district.

The incident occurred on Saturday, prompting the Udupi district police to launch a joint investigation with the Uttara Kannada district police.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

Gourish Rohidas Karkera (37), from North Goa

Mainuddin Bagalkot (31), from Sindhagi taluk, Vijayapura district

Surjith Gautam Kar (27), from Maharashtra

According to police, the trio attacked the elderly woman and forcibly removed her gold chain before fleeing. Investigations led authorities to track down and arrest the suspects within days.

Further inquiries are underway to determine if the group was involved in other similar crimes in the coastal Karnataka region.
