Gonong Taloh Arrested with Heroin in Arunachals East Siang

Anti-Drug Squad Busts Peddler in Operation Dawn 2.0

The Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district has arrested a drug peddler and seized 9.69 grams of heroin during its ongoing Operation Dawn 2.0 campaign.

The accused, Gonong Taloh, a resident of Yagrung village, was apprehended following a coordinated sting operation led by Deputy SP and ADS in-charge Ayup Boko, in collaboration with the anti-drug unit of Pasighat.

An undercover buyer approached Taloh, resulting in his arrest. During a search of his residence, police recovered 9.69 grams of heroin, Rs 17,800 in cash, six tobacco containers, three transparent vials, 23 live cartridges (12 gauge, 70mm), and a smartphone.

The seizure was carried out under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in the presence of Executive Magistrate Oter Gao, police officials confirmed.

Investigation into the case is ongoing as part of the district’s efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking.
