In a major crackdown on land fraud, Prakasam district police arrested seven individuals for forging documents to illegally occupy land worth Rs15 crore in Kanigiri town. The arrests were made on July 1, 2025, after a thorough investigation led by DSP Sai Eeshwar Yashwanth and his team.
According to police, the gang fabricated fake property papers for survey numbers 301 and 302 in Shankhavaram village. The forged documents were part of a larger plot involving 14 conspirators who aimed to sell the land and make unlawful profits.
The case, registered under Cr.No. 145/2025 at Kanigiri Police Station, triggered a coordinated investigation supervised by senior officials. Circle Inspector Shaik Khajavali, Sub-Inspectors T. Sriram and K. Madhavarao, and their team collected crucial records from the Kanigiri survey office, the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO), and the local sub-registrar.

Fake property documents were seized from the accused, who have now been remanded to custody. Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
District SP praised the swift and coordinated action by the investigative team for effectively exposing and halting the fraudulent land operation.
