Gombe Police Arrest Two Suspects in House Breaking and Theft

Two suspects arrested after ₦3.2M worth of stolen items recovered

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Ibrahim Umar and Usman Abdullahi, for their alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy, house breaking, and theft. The arrest occurred on February 7, 2025, after an investigation was launched following a formal complaint filed on February 4, 2025.

The complainant, Abdulbasid Haruna, reported that on February 3, around 1:00 am, unknown persons broke into his home and stole valuables including laptops, mobile phones, and other items, with an estimated total value of ₦3,200,570.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the police used advanced technological methods to track the stolen devices, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspects. During questioning, both suspects confessed to the crime, and all stolen items were recovered after they were sold for ₦80,000.

The police are continuing their search for a third suspect, Ibrahim Danmariya, believed to be the individual who received the stolen goods. DSP Abdullahi urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, assuring that all information will be treated confidentially.
