MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman has been arrested and charged after police say she stole a debit card from a 77-year-old resident at a local care facility and used it to make an online purchase.
The Memphis Police Department launched an investigation in December 2024, after receiving a report from the victim’s power of attorney, who alleged that the card had gone missing while the resident was staying at Majestic Care Home.
Detectives later identified Goldovea Coleman, 25, as the suspect. According to police, Coleman used the stolen card to make at least one purchase on Amazon.
She was booked into jail on April 13 and is now facing charges of identity theft and theft of property.
The investigation remains ongoing to determine if there were additional unauthorized transactions or victims.
