In a disturbing case of love, betrayal, and financial deception, the Badagada police in Bhubaneswar arrested Golaka Bihari Dixit, an Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel posted in Ladakh, following allegations of deceit and exploitation.
According to the victim, Dixit developed a romantic relationship with her over a prolonged period, promising marriage and gaining her trust. He allegedly engaged in physical intimacy multiple times but later refused to honor the commitment and intimidated her into silence.
The woman reported that the accused also took money under false pretences, adding a financial dimension to the betrayal. Acting swiftly, police located Dixit as he attempted to leave Bhubaneswar and return to Ladakh. He was apprehended in the Market Building area and promptly handed over for judicial proceedings.
The Badagada police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including provisions related to cheating, criminal intimidation, and breach of trust. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have indicated that more information may emerge as the probe progresses.
This incident highlights the risks of emotional and financial exploitation, even by individuals in positions of trust, and underscores the importance of timely reporting and law enforcement intervention.
