Goa Police Rescue Women, Arrest Five Foreign Nationals

Illegal Spas Crackdown Leads to Prostitution Racket Bust

A day after protests by locals against illegal spas and wellness centres in Arambol, police rescued seven women and arrested five foreign nationals for overstaying. In addition, three more individuals were arrested for operating a prostitution racket.

Arrests of Foreign Nationals

During the crackdown at Khalchawada, the following Ugandan nationals were apprehended:

Sandra Namwaje

Marget Kyakuwade

Zahara Nasanga

Phionah Mubezi

Shanita

They were transferred to a detention centre for foreigners in Mapusa. Police said the five women were allegedly caught soliciting customers and could not produce valid travel documents.

Arrests of Locals

Three Indian nationals were also arrested under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act:

Sanju Kumar – Uttar Pradesh

Shibani Das – West Bengal

Paresh Bhati – Gujarat

The trio is accused of procuring and inducing women into prostitution. The rescued women were transferred to a protective home.

Separate Action

In a related operation, police also arrested another Ugandan national, Bangi Agnes Nambalirwa, for overstaying in Goa.

Authorities stated that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal spas, human trafficking, and prostitution in the region.
