Goa Police Arrest Three in Cyber Trafficking of Indians to Southeast Asia

International gang trafficked Indians into cyber slavery in call centers across Southeast Asia.

The Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police has arrested three members of an international cyber trafficking gang involved in exploiting Indians for forced labor in call centers across Southeast Asia. The arrested suspects are Adithya Ravichandran (22) from Tamil Nadu, Rupnarayan Gupta (36) from Mumbai, and Talaniti Nulaxi (22), a Kazakhstan national of Chinese origin.

The arrests followed an investigation into the trafficking of a Goan victim, who had been lured with a fake job offer in Thailand. Instead of securing employment, the victim was trafficked into cyber slavery in Myanmar, forced to work in fraudulent call centers. This victim was one of the 549 Indians rescued from Myanmar by the Indian government earlier this month.

Authorities believe the gang was involved in trafficking numerous individuals, exploiting them under false pretenses and forcing them to work under harsh conditions in Southeast Asian call centers. The Goa Police have intensified their investigation, and more arrests are expected as they uncover the full scope of the trafficking operation.
