Goa police have arrested three men from Karnataka after a video showing them harassing two female foreign tourists on a North Goa beach went viral, sparking public outrage.
The video shows the women being forced to pose for photographs while the men grabbed their arms, shoulders, and waists. The clip circulated widely online, raising serious concerns about tourist safety in Goa.
Acting swiftly, the tourist police inspector filed a complaint, and the Mandrem police launched a massive manhunt. Using technical surveillance and sources, the police traced the accused to Mysuru, Karnataka. A Goa police team, led by sub-inspectors Paresh Kale and J Abhishekh Chodankar, apprehended the trio in Ravanduru, Piriyapattana Bhogananhalli.
The accused have been identified as Karthik BR (28), BN Santhosha (33), and Ravi BN, all residents of Mysuru. They have been booked for wrongful restraint and outraging modesty.
North Goa SP Rahul Gupta noted that the police had initially withheld details of the case to avoid alerting the culprits, ensuring their arrest.
