HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — 67-year-old Glenn Ross was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including impersonating a public officer, by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest occurred on April 29 when deputies stopped a vehicle on I-75 and U.S. Highway 301. The vehicle was equipped with unauthorized emergency lights and a spotlight. Upon investigation, Ross activated the red and blue lights and falsely claimed to be a federal agent. He also displayed a fraudulent TSA badge, despite having no federal employment history.
In addition to the charge of impersonating a public officer, Ross faced charges of unlawful use of blue lights and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the serious risks associated with impersonating law enforcement, stating, “Impersonating a law enforcement officer creates significant public safety concerns. Our office has zero tolerance for those who threaten the integrity of the badge. We will do everything we can to make sure this individual is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and protect the trust in law enforcement.
