A 27-year-old man, Gleni Goleci, has been charged after a major drugs and cash seizure in Brentford, west London. On Tuesday, 7 January, officers from the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), a joint unit of the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Metropolitan Police, stopped Goleci while he was driving on High Street, Brentford.
Upon searching his vehicle, the officers discovered two kilos of cocaine and approximately £50,000 in cash hidden in a sophisticated compartment in the boot. Further investigations led to a search of a flat in Brentford, where officers found an additional six kilos of cocaine and £150,000 in cash.
Goleci, an Albanian national, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and possession of criminal property. He appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 9 January and was remanded into custody. He will appear again at Isleworth Crown Court on 6 February.
Andrew Tickner, NCA Operations Manager, highlighted the significant impact of the operation on disrupting organised crime groups in London, stating that the seizures prevent reinvestment into further criminal activities and exploitation.
