The Giridih cyber police have successfully apprehended a notorious cyber fraudster, Kuldeep Mandal, who is believed to have duped people across six states. The arrest took place on Thursday evening in Kalibad, near the Giridih collectorate, led by DSP Abid Khan and his cybercrime team.
Mandal’s capture followed a tip-off via the Pratibimb App, prompting SP Bimal Kumar to assemble a special investigation team. The team raided Mandal’s hideout in the Mufassil police station area and caught him red-handed. Four mobile phones, containing crucial evidence, were seized during the operation and are now undergoing forensic analysis.
Further investigation revealed that Mandal, whose father works for CCL, has multiple fraud cases against him in states including Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Despite facing charges in various states, Mandal allegedly continued his fraudulent activities via phone calls.
Authorities are delving deeper into Mandal’s illegal operations, including the wealth amassed through these crimes. The police are also tracking down his associates, who may have been part of his extensive cyber fraud network.
