Gerson Aguilera-Villalobos Arrested in Laredo Robbery

Suspect charged after homeless man assaulted on NYE

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo police arrested a suspect in connection with a downtown robbery that left a homeless man injured on New Year’s Eve.

Officers responded around 8:46 a.m. on December 31 to a call in the 1400 block of Lincoln Street. The victim, a 26-year-old homeless man, had scratches on his face and reported that three other homeless individuals assaulted him and stole $1,000. A witness provided video evidence of the incident.

Police identified one suspect as 19-year-old Gerson Aguilera-Villalobos. Officers located him at about 10:15 a.m. in an abandoned building on the same block and took him into custody.

Villalobos was charged with robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity. The two other suspects remain at large.
