Gerric Delane Connelly, 58, from Valdese, was arrested by Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies on July 10, charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on Calico Road in Gamewell for a driver’s license violation. During the stop, a K9 officer detected narcotics in the vehicle.
A search uncovered roughly 31 grams of methamphetamine, 22 grams of marijuana, and $579 in cash. Connelly was taken into custody and charged.
He was given a secured bond of $200,000, with a District Court hearing set for July 14. Notably, Connelly was already out on bond from a May 4 arrest, where he faced charges for trafficking heroin or opium and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
