ARLINGTON, VA — A jury has found Geremy Bridgeforth guilty on five felony charges tied to a string of break-ins and sexual assaults that occurred in April 2023.
The verdict came after a four-day trial in Arlington Circuit Court, according to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney. Bridgeforth, 43, was arrested on August 17, 2023, and initially charged with burglary with intent to commit murder/rape/robbery and object sexual penetration.
Investigators linked Bridgeforth to crimes that occurred on April 1 and 2, 2023, in the 3900 block of Fairfax Drive and later in the Clarendon-Courthouse area. The charges included:
Two counts of burglary
Two counts of credit card theft
Two counts of credit card fraud
Petit larceny
Aggravated sexual battery
Burglary with intent to commit aggravated sexual battery
Bridgeforth was identified using a partial palm print, surveillance footage, and WiFi/geolocation data that placed him at the scenes. During the April 2 incident, court records show he broke into a Quincy Plaza apartment and sexually assaulted a woman.
DNA evidence collected from the victim matched Bridgeforth as a likely contributor, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office confirmed. Similar evidence tied him to another assault on April 12, 2023, at Courthouse Plaza.
The jury convicted Bridgeforth on the following five charges:
Object sexual penetration
Burglary with intent to commit object sexual penetration
Aggravated sexual battery
Burglary with intent to commit aggravated sexual battery
Burglary with intent to commit larceny or any felony
Bridgeforth is scheduled to be sentenced on October 3, 2025.
