Gerardo Jaime, 24, was arrested on February 11 in Rio Bravo after being accused of assaulting a family member. Deputies from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute call at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Centeno Lane.
Upon meeting with a female victim, deputies learned that Jaime had assaulted her. He was subsequently arrested on a third-degree felony charge of assaulting a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation.
Jaime remained in custody as of Wednesday, according to Webb County Jail records. Sheriff Martin Cuellar commended his deputies for their swift response and reiterated the importance of keeping families safe from domestic violence.
“Everyone deserves to live free from the threat of violence, especially in their own homes,” Sheriff Cuellar stated.
