PERRY COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) — A burglary suspect wanted since May is now behind bars, according to Perry County deputies.
Authorities say 58-year-old Gerald Weddle is accused of burglarizing a home near the Rome community in southern Indiana. A background check revealed Weddle was on parole following his release from federal prison, where he had served time for multiple burglaries and thefts across Southern Indiana and Kentucky.
On Tuesday, Weddle was apprehended after a police pursuit in Missouri. Deputies say he will soon be extradited back to Perry County to face additional charges related to the recent burglary.
Weddle’s arrest ends a multi-month search and adds to his extensive criminal history in the region.
