Forest City, N.C. — A long-running investigation into drug activity at a Forest City residence led to a major bust on June 17, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of narcotics.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office A.C.E. Team, acting on multiple Crime Stoppers tips and five overdose calls linked to 281 Andy Drive, executed a search warrant at the property after a traffic stop earlier that day uncovered illegal drugs.
During the traffic stop on Race Path Church Road, K9 Ranger alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed Geoffrey Scott Toney, 49, in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and Alprazolam. Toney is one of the residents of the Andy Drive address.
Armed with that information and ongoing intelligence, investigators executed a search warrant at 281 Andy Drive, where they recovered:
31.65 grams of fentanyl
36.32 grams of methamphetamine
6 dosage units of Alprazolam
Drug paraphernalia, including digital scales
$128 in U.S. currency
Four individuals were arrested and charged:
