OHIO — Gene Blatchford, wanted for a shooting and car theft in Dayton, was arrested Friday after police tracked him to a Costco parking lot.
Kettering police pursued a stolen vehicle that Blatchford was driving, which he lost control of near Wilmington Pike and Whipp Road. A witness then informed authorities the vehicle had entered the Costco lot.
Police found Blatchford, the stolen car, and a firearm at different locations within the parking lot. Dayton police took him into custody.
Blatchford faces multiple felony charges connected to the shooting as well as charges in Kettering, including failure to comply, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, and possessing weapons while under disability.
