SP Sihag explained that the incident began when five men, led by Sanjeet Kumar, attempted a robbery in Thamba village under Athmalgola PS. The victims—Manish Kumar, Kanchan Kumari, and a 2–year‑old child—were passing by on a motorcycle when they were attacked. Sanjeet intervened, revealing they knew the couple from his girlfriend’s circle. Fearing exposure, accomplices turned violent. During the scuffle, Golu attacked Manish, Geda stabbed Kanchan, and Naveen, in panic, stabbed Sanjeet—who recognized the couple and tried to help
With Geda’s arrest, all primary accused are now in custody. The official noted the investigation continues to track remaining members and recover stolen property.
Local residents and authorities praised the swift action, offering a sigh of relief after the heinous daylight murders.
