In a targeted anti-drugs operation, Gauripur police in Dhubri district arrested a woman and two young men on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, the police, led by Officer-in-Charge Chiranjeev Lahon, raided the residence of Jeleka Khatun in Dampur 2nd Part village under Gauripur police station jurisdiction.
During the raid, authorities seized 45.82 grams of brown sugar, three mobile phones, and Rs 13,400 in cash. Alongside Jeleka Khatun, two youths, Rezzak Ali and Sahadat Ali, were also taken into custody.
A police source revealed that Jeleka Khatun had been involved in the illegal drug trade for a long time. The trio is currently undergoing interrogation to help the police gather further information about the network and supply chain.
