BOISE, Idaho — A Boise man has been arrested on serious federal charges following an investigation into online child exploitation.
Gary Williams, 48, was taken into custody on Friday, July 18, on a federal warrant for felony receipt of child pornography. Boise Police began investigating Williams after receiving a tip about his online behavior involving minors.
The case began on July 7 when officers were alerted to possible internet child enticement. Detectives found multiple inappropriate comments allegedly made by Williams on social media posts featuring children.
A Boise Police Special Victims Unit detective took over the case on July 10. Investigators uncovered evidence indicating that Williams had viewed child pornography and engaged in sexually explicit conversations with minors.
A search warrant was executed at Williams’ residence on July 18, leading to his arrest. Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are continuing the investigation.
