Monroe, LA – A 42-year-old Monroe man, Gary Brown, was arrested last week in connection with a string of burglaries at a local storage facility.

On July 2, Monroe Police responded to Tower Self Storage on Fulton Drive after the facility manager reported seeing a suspect breaking into multiple units.

According to the police report, Brown was seen on surveillance footage using a flashlight to access four separate units. He was later observed removing a box from one unit and placing it in his vehicle.

The owner of the affected unit told police the box contained two brass scopes, each valued at approximately $1,500.

Search warrants executed at Brown’s home and vehicle led to the recovery of the stolen box inside his car. During questioning, Brown admitted to entering several units but claimed he only took items from the unit containing the scopes. He also admitted to selling the stolen scopes.

Brown now faces charges related to burglary and theft. The investigation remains ongoing.
