PETERSBURG, Va. — A Florida man is behind bars after authorities say he was responsible for a series of hit-and-run crashes along Interstate 95 early Saturday morning.
According to Virginia State Police, troopers responded to 13 separate crashes between 6:30 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. on Feb. 14. The incidents occurred along I-95 from the Petersburg area to Spotsylvania County.
Investigators said a black Chevrolet pickup truck was identified as the vehicle involved in the crashes. Troopers later located and stopped the truck, taking the driver into custody.
Authorities identified the suspect as Garrett Ryan Sulli, 34, of Florida. Police indicated they believe Sulli was homeless at the time of the incidents.
Details regarding the charges were not immediately available. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
