In a shocking act of violence, 65-year-old Gangadhar Madavi was arrested by Narkhed police for the brutal murder of 55-year-old Sukhdev Warkhade at a farmhouse in Umri village. The incident occurred on July 5 between 9 PM and 9:30 PM, where both men worked as wage labourers.
According to police sources, the murder stemmed from a long-standing work-related dispute. An argument between the two escalated when Warkhade allegedly hurled verbal abuse at Madavi, triggering a violent response. In a fit of rage, Madavi attacked Warkhade with an iron rod, axe, and iron claws, fatally injuring him.
The crime came to light following a complaint by Yogesh Barangay, a 34-year-old farmer from Pipla. A case of murder has been registered at Narkhed police station, and Madavi has been taken into police custody until July 9.
Investigations are ongoing to understand the complete sequence of events and whether any others were involved.
