Gandhinagar Police Arrest Maulik Patel with 772g Cannabis Worth Rs5.13 Lakh

Special Operations Group cracks down on illegal drug trafficking in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar District Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested Maulikkumar Ashokbhai Patel, 32, after recovering 772 grams of cannabis (ganja) and other valuables worth Rs5.13 lakh in Gandhinagar town.

Acting on specific intelligence, the SOG team intercepted a Maruti Suzuki Brezza near the Gandhinagar RTO office. The vehicle, driven by Patel, contained 772 grams of cannabis valued at Rs7,720. Authorities also seized a mobile phone worth Rs5,000, cash totaling Rs600, and the vehicle itself valued at Rs5 lakh.

The total value of seized items stands at Rs5.13 lakh.

Patel, a resident of Uvarsad in Gandhinagar, has been booked under multiple sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The case has been transferred to the Sector-7 police station for further investigation.

Authorities have intensified their crackdown on drug offenses and urge citizens to report suspicious activities to help curb illegal trade in the district.
