Galina Smirnova, a 95-year-old woman, has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly killing a fellow resident at a Brooklyn nursing home.

Police say Smirnova fatally attacked 89-year-old Nina Kravtsov, a Holocaust survivor, using a piece of metal from a wheelchair. The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, located on West 29th Street near Surf Avenue in Coney Island.

The two women reportedly got into a heated argument before the assault took place. Authorities responded to the scene and confirmed that Kravtsov had died from injuries sustained during the violent altercation.

Smirnova was taken into custody and faces murder charges as the investigation continues.
