In a major drug bust, the Gajuwaka police seized 184 kilograms of ganja, packed in 94 covers, near Vuda colony on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner of Police-2 (Law and Order) D Mary Prashanthi provided details of the operation, stating that the seizure was made following reliable intelligence. Task Force inspector R Appala Naidu had informed the Gajuwaka police about the illegal storage of ganja in the area.
Acting on the tip-off, Circle Inspector SK Nazir and his team conducted a raid, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals on charges of illegal ganja possession and distribution. The arrested suspects have been identified as Imran Khan, Arjun Kumar, K Balaji Krishna, B Kumar Sahoo, D Khara, S Matham, S Ramachandra, and K Manoj.
Along with the ganja, the police seized a car and eight mobile phones from the accused. The investigation into the illegal drug trade is ongoing.
