ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. – A Gadsden man, 44-year-old Cale Arthur Bobbitt, was arrested on burglary and theft charges after being caught on video stealing items from a home carport.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary report at a residence on Bachelor Chapel Road on July 15, 2025. The homeowner provided investigators with video footage and images showing a suspect entering the property and taking items from the attached carport.
Using the video evidence from the homeowner’s Ring Camera system, investigators identified Bobbitt and located him. Upon speaking with authorities, Bobbitt revealed the location of the stolen items, which were then recovered and returned to the homeowner.
Bobbitt was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center, charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of property.
Sheriff Jonathon Horton praised the homeowner’s quick action and the role of technology in solving the case. “This is a great example of how community cooperation and technology play a vital role in keeping our neighborhoods safe,” Horton said.
