Mobile, Ala. — Three men have been arrested following an armed robbery that occurred during an attempted gun trade, according to the Mobile Police Department.
The incident happened just after midnight on April 25 near the intersection of Farnell Drive and Navco Road. Police said the victim had arranged to trade guns with another person but was instead confronted by three suspects who forcibly took his firearm.
According to investigators, the suspects held the victim at gunpoint before he was able to escape in his vehicle. No injuries were reported.
On Wednesday, authorities identified and arrested the suspects as Frederick Giles Jr. and Marcus Watkins, both 18, and 20-year-old Javon McSwain, all of Mobile.
The three have been charged with first-degree robbery and booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail. Bond hearings for all suspects are scheduled for Friday, according to jail records.
