A serial fraudster, Natalie Chamberlain, has been jailed for her latest tenancy scam involving a stage three cancer patient. The 40-year-old, who has a history of using multiple fake identities, was sentenced for deceiving victims in Norfolk over a six-year period.

Chamberlain, using aliases such as Natalie Rivers, a fake cancer victim, and Natalie Collins, a fictitious army veteran, targeted vulnerable individuals. Her most recent scam involved a tenancy fraud in Sheringham, Norfolk. She had rented a property in December 2022 and was due to pay rent in January and February of 2023 but instead deceived a couple into sending her £1,900. The couple, who had signed a rental agreement, were then told that they could not move in because of a collapsed roof. However, when a family member visited the property, they found someone else had moved in, also scammed by Chamberlain.

In court, the legitimate landlord shared how Chamberlain used her fabricated cancer diagnosis as a ploy to gain trust and access to their home, claiming she had stage-three stomach cancer. The landlord, also suffering from cancer at the time, felt deeply betrayed upon discovering the scam.

Chamberlain’s manipulative tactics, including exploiting her victims’ sympathy, led to multiple fraud convictions, and she now faces justice for the emotional and financial harm caused to her victims.
