FRANKFORD, Del. — Delaware State Police arrested 20-year-old Malachi Mahon this week on multiple felony drug and gun charges following a Probation & Parole search on Monday.
Authorities said the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force was called to Mahon’s Frankford Avenue residence around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 after probation officers conducted an administrative search. During the search, suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun were discovered. A child was present in the home at the time.
Police reported that the search uncovered approximately 6.44 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 50.43 grams of suspected marijuana, and a Glock 9mm handgun.
Mahon was taken into custody without incident and transported to DSP Troop 4. He faces multiple felony charges, including:
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited Who Also Possesses a Controlled Substance
Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited—Prior Drug Conviction
Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
Possession of Controlled Substance—Tier 1
Endangering the Welfare of a Child by Committing a Drug Offense with a Child in the Dwelling
Mahon also faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of personal use quantity marijuana under age 21.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $36,601 cash bond.
