MORGANTON, N.C. — A 66-year-old Morganton man has been arrested on felony child exploitation charges following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say Frank Wayne Campbell, of Brown Drive, was charged with two counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The investigation began on October 6, 2025, after the sheriff’s office received a tip from NCMEC regarding potential online exploitation activity. Detectives executed a search warrant at Campbell’s home, where evidence was collected leading to his arrest on October 31.

Campbell was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Burke County Magistrate’s Office, where he received a $250,000 secured bond.

He made his first court appearance on Monday, November 3, to face the charges.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
