River Gee County, April 14, 2025 — In a major victory in the fight against illegal narcotics, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested a suspected drug kingpin during a high-stakes operation in southeastern Liberia.
Frank Agbata, a 43-year-old Nigerian national known by the alias “Oyeigbo,” was taken into custody at the Tienpo Nyunken checkpoint in River Gee County. The arrest came after a long-term surveillance operation that culminated in the seizure of a significant cache of drugs, including 27.9 grams of Kush, 1.4 kilograms of marijuana, and 31 Tramadol tablets.
Authorities believe Agbata played a central role in a regional drug trafficking network, with his activities contributing heavily to the illegal drug supply in River Gee and neighboring counties.
“This arrest is a major breakthrough,” said an LDEA official. “It marks a critical step in dismantling a drug distribution chain that has posed a serious threat to our communities.”
Agbata is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation. He is set to appear in court today, Monday, April 14, where he will face multiple charges related to drug possession and trafficking.
The LDEA praised the dedication of its officers and emphasized its continued commitment to enforcing drug laws and ensuring public safety in River Gee County and across Liberia.
