Four men have been sentenced for their involvement in a break-in at a house in Folkestone, Kent, which was being used to cultivate cannabis. The incident was part of Kent Police’s ongoing efforts to tackle organized crime in the region.

The local police responded swiftly to reports of a disturbance at the property on Pavilion Road at around 11:50 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Upon arrival, officers found four men inside the property, one of whom was holding a machete. The men were promptly detained and arrested.

A search of the three-storey house uncovered approximately 150 cannabis plants, along with harvested cannabis, additional weapons, and evidence of unsafe arrangements for illegally extracting electricity. Further investigation revealed that a fifth man, who was likely monitoring the property on behalf of those behind the cannabis cultivation operation, was found hiding in the loft and was also arrested.

Enquiries showed that the four men arrested had traveled from London with the intention of stealing cannabis and other valuable items from the property. The police investigation continues as part of their efforts to dismantle organized crime networks in the area.
