Four men have been sentenced to a combined total of 17 years in prison after committing a series of burglaries across Surrey and London.
Surrey Police reported that the group carried out at least 11 break-ins in just over a month in late 2024, stealing more than £80,000 worth of property.
The offences took place between 3 November and 11 December 2024. The men posed as tourists in affluent areas and forced entry through windows and doors, taking watches, designer clothes, and jewellery.
Israel Contreras, 22, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on 5 December while attempting to flee to Chile. The remaining three men were stopped in London on 11 December while trying to escape in a car.
The group was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court:
Israel Contreras, 22, – five years and three months
Eduardo Marquez, 29, – six years and nine months
Yeico Guzman Fernandez, 25, – two years and nine months
Michael Carrasco, 28, – two years and nine months
The sentences reflect the severity of their crimes and the impact on the victims in Surrey and London.
