Four Men Arrested in Maldhakka Chowk Robbery Plot

Police foil plan targeting railway passengers

by Ananya Mehta

The Bund Garden police on Tuesday arrested four men who were allegedly planning a robbery near Maldhakka Chowk around 5:30 p.m. Acting on suspicion, police intercepted the group and recovered ropes and chilli powder—items they believed would be used to target unsuspecting railway passengers in the busy area.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Janmohammed Shaikh (32) of Wadki, Santish Shirole (35), who is homeless, and Khattaraj Vibhuti (19) and Shiv Kumar (23), both residents of Swargate. Police officials stated that the swift action likely prevented a robbery attempt that could have endangered passengers near the crowded junction.
