Four Men Arrested in Lincolnshire Human Trafficking Sting

Illinois State Police operation targets commercial sex crimes

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. – A two-day human trafficking suppression operation conducted by the Illinois State Police (ISP) led to the arrest of four men accused of attempting to engage in commercial sex acts.

The operation, held on February 25-26, aimed to combat human trafficking by targeting individuals seeking illicit activities. The investigation involved ISP special agents, SWAT teams, and local task forces, with support from the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Arrested Individuals:
Timothy Hansen, 57, of Lake Bluff
Elijah Newell, 40, of Chicago
Sean Powers, 38, of Geneva
Edas Romero-Chinchilla, 32, of Round Lake Heights
Each suspect faces multiple charges, including traveling to meet a minor and indecent solicitation of a child.

Authorities continue to crack down on human trafficking and related crimes, urging the public to report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
