Four Drug Suppliers Arrested with Heroin in Shillong, Including Three Women

In a significant drug bust, four individuals were arrested in Shillong today, including three women, on charges of heroin possession and trafficking. The accused have been identified as Altima Khatun (27), Gulasha Begum (30), Jumila Khatun (28), and Suraj Masih (25).

The arrests took place in Umsohsun, Shillong, where police seized two soap boxes containing a total of 19.4 grams of suspected heroin. Additionally, five mobile phones and a cash sum of Rs 81,610 were recovered from the suspects.

The police promptly registered a case with the Sadar Police Station, and investigations into the drug trafficking operation are currently underway. The arrested individuals are believed to be involved in a larger network of illegal drug distribution in the region.

This operation marks a continued effort by local authorities to combat drug trafficking and protect the community from the dangers of illicit substances.
