In a major drug bust on April 25, Mohali Police arrested four individuals involved in drug smuggling and seized a substantial amount of illegal drugs, money, and weapons. The operation resulted in the recovery of 211 grams of heroin, Rs 8.1 lakh in drug money, two illegal firearms, 16 live rounds, and two vehicles.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Satnam Singh alias Nikku (24), Suraj Kumar alias Pehalwan (22), Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukh (35), and Suhail (33). Following their arrest, they were produced in court on April 26 and remanded to four days of police custody, said Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek.
The operation was carried out by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team, which had been stationed near CP-67 Mall, Sector 67, Mohali, to monitor suspicious activity. While conducting their search, they received intelligence about the involvement of Satnam Singh, Suraj Kumar, and Sukhwinder Singh in possessing illegal weapons. This led to their arrest and the subsequent recovery of drugs and firearms.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the origins and intended distribution of the heroin, while also examining possible links to broader drug trafficking operations.
